Renowned DJ Aqeel recently took a trip down the memory lane, reminiscing about performing at the sangeet ceremonies of celebrity couples Kareena Kapoor Khan – Saif Ali Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, during their respective weddings years ago, and described them as “amazing.”
During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, he recalled, “Saif and Kareena’s (sangeet ceremony) was very small, with only very few people there at the Taj. Abhishek’s was at his house in Juhu — it was a crazy party. Both were fun. They are all my friends; I grew up with these guys. So, there was a sense of comfort, in knowing the whole crowd. It wasn’t like a stranger came in and performed. Most of them even attended my wedding.”
He also talked about performing at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. “It was good fun. It was like a non-stop four-and-a-half to five-hour marathon with all the artistes; you name them, they were there,” he noted. He also mentioned that the baraat had 13 stages and he was on one of them. The composer also mentioned that he was made to sign an NDA, which refrained him from posting anything on social media, or he would be sued.
