Did Ranveer Singh waive off his fees for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra? Here’s what we know

For Baiju Bawra, Ranveer Singh decided to accept a ‘minimal token amount.’

According to reports, popular Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has waived his expenses for the critically acclaimed upcoming movie Baiju Bawra, which is helmed by master director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. According to prior reports, there were funding difficulties that caused the movie to be postponed to 2024.

According to a number of media sources, Ranveer has chosen to forego his acting fees in favour of a profit-sharing arrangement.

Ranveer chose to accept a small amount since he didn’t want to place additional financial strain on his family. This will allow the director to use all of the money for the movie.

According to reports, the choice was made to ensure that Sanjay Leela Bhansali can use all the funds to make the movie on the scale he envisions.

In 2019, Baiju Bawra had been announced by the director. It is based on a maverick maestro’s tale of retribution. According to reports, it is a remake of the same-named 1952 musical smash, which starred Meena Kumari, Bharat Bhushan, and Surendra.

The story of the original movie centres on the journey of common man Baiju, who is out to revenge the death of his father by defeating Tansen in a musical battle.

It was recently announced that the movie is scheduled to begin production in January 2024. Actress Alia Bhatt will appear opposite Ranveer in it.

In Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, the actor will be paired with Alia. Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra are also featured in the movie. He last appeared in the critically panned film Cirkus by Rohit Shetty, which failed to impress the audience.
