The makers of actor Prabhas‘ next film, ‘Adipurush’ are still searching for a leading lady. The casting is still in process.
Rumours are that Deepika Padukone was the makers’ choice for the film. They saw Deepika fit for the role of Sita in the film. However, South Indian filmmaker Nag Ashwin announced his upcoming project which Prabhas, Deepika, and Amitabh Bachchan.
According to Mid-Day, now that Deepika and Prabhas are appearing together in a film, there cannot be another consequent film with the same pair in the lead role. Therefore, ‘Adipurush’ still lacks a female lead.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that actor Saif Ali Khan has been roped in for the role of the antagonist in Adipurush. Saif said to Mid-Day, “It’s a phenomenal project and I’m super thrilled to be a part of it! I look forward to clashing swords with the mighty Prabhas and to play a role that is electrifying and demonic.”
Deepika, on the other hand, is currently working on Shakun Batra‘s untitled film alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.
