Deepika Padukone slams L&T chairman over wanting employees to work on Sundays

Deepika Padukone, the actress who is not only known for her craft but also for her advocacy of mental health, has weighed in on the ongoing debate sparked by remarks made by Larsen & Turbo chairman SM Subrahmanyam. His controversial comments about workplace culture included advocating for a 90-hour work week and asking employees to work on Sundays. He made that statement during the company’s six-day week policy, have reignited discussions about the importance of work-life balance.

The chairman sparked controversy online after he suggested that the employee could work 90 hour in a week. “How long can you stare at your wife?” remarked Subrahmanyam, while encouraging his employees to prioritize work. He also expressed the need for working weekends, as he said, “I regret I am not able to make you work on Sundays. If I can make you work on Sundays, I will be more happy because I work on Sundays.”
