Recently, Deepika Padukone featured in Nat Geo’s Mega Icons, where remembered her school days and revealed that being Prakash Padukone’s daughter, she was treated specially and differently in school. She recalled one such instance where the teacher did not punish her, saying that they are huge fans of her father’s. She also shared the day-to-day routine she followed when she was a teenager. She also shared that she used to wake up at 5 in the morning which was followed by some exercise and then she used to go to school. “As soon as I would finish school, there was no time to chitchat with friends so I would get home, change, have a snack, go to the badminton court, have dinner, be exhausted by that point and go to sleep and then the same thing again,” shared the actress.

“That was my life: No late nights, no TV, no movies. Sport teaches you sacrifice, discipline, dedication and determination,” she said. In the interview with Nat Geo, Deepika shared how she didn’t realise when she went from playing badminton in the club to inter-school competitions. Amidst the same interview, her husband, Ranveer Singh talks about how she was making sacrifices for Badminton while girls her age were making friends.
