Deepika Padukone graced the cover of Time magazine. Deepika Padukone is the newest ‘global star’ to grace Time magazine’s cover. She is recognised for ‘bringing the world to Bollywood’ with her work. In 2018, she was named to the magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential People.

Deepika is referred to as “the most popular actress in the world’s most populous country” in the accompanying interview. She is shown on the cover wearing a oversized beige suit and no shoes. Her makeup was minimal .

Deepika discussed the ‘continuous political backlash against her in the interview. She stated that she is unsure if she is expected to feel anything about it. But the truth is that she is unbothered about it. Previously, Karni Sena protested Deepika’s film Padmaavat.Her visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University to express solidarity with students who were attacked by a mob sparked outrage and her ‘saffron bikini’ from a song in Pathaan was heavily discussed and debated online, causing boycott calls.
