Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh graced the pilot episode of Koffee With Karan season 8. The beloved couple astounded the audience with their killer looks and indulged in various heartfelt discussions. One of the discussions featured Deepika talking about open relationships and casual dating. She expressed her stance while she was seeing Ranveer. However, her thoughts couldn’t align with those of the audience as people started trolling her on social media.
After a long pause, Deepika has finally opened up about the backlash that she faced on the internet. In an interview with Vogue, Deepika verified her statement and shared that she is not unafraid to own up to her mistakes.
The actress said, “When I feel really strongly or passionately about something, I don’t think twice about expressing myself. I’ve grown to become this person where I’m not afraid of speaking my truth or owning up to mistakes. I’m not afraid of saying sorry and I’m okay to be the only person in the room who has a different point of view.”
While having a conversation on Koffee With Karan, Deepika spoke about her relationship dynamics with Ranveer. The actress said how she decided to be single as she had come out of difficult relationships. But then Ranveer comes along and she didn’t commit to him until he proposed to her. Though both of them were allowed to see other people during that time, Deepika would always go back to Ranveer. As in her mind, she was committed to him.
The couple recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary in Brussels. They even posted certain snaps on their social media account to recall the special day.
On the work front, Deepika will be appearing in Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. She will also be playing the lead role in Rohit Shetty’s directorial Singham Again. While Ranveer Singh is all set to make his dashing appearance in Don 3.
