‘Deepfake Se Bacho Doston’ – Ranveer Singh on his deepfake video getting VIRAL
Ranveer Singh tweeted to his X (previously known as Twitter) account on Friday evening to alert everyone about the increasing prevalence of deepfake videos.
The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani star addressed his fans and followers as “dostonnn” while sending out a harsh message about deepfake videos. “Deepfake se bacho, dostonnnn,” he wrote.
Ranveer Singh’s statement comes a day after a deepfake video of him went viral on social media, showing the actor slamming the government. In the video, Singh is seen asking people to vote for “Nayay (justice)” in the current Lok Sabha elections. However, it was eventually revealed that the viral video was altered and edited.

Earlier this month, another deepfake video of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan went viral on social media, showing him advocating for a political party.
After the video went viral, Mumbai police responded and filed a FIR against an unidentified individual. Khan’s office filed the FIR at the Khar Police Station under pertinent parts of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), such as 419 (impersonation), 420 (cheating), and other provisions of the Information Technology Act.
Later, Aamir Khan’s publicist issued a statement confirming that the viral video was ‘fake.’ “We want to clarify that Mr. Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising awareness through Election Commission public awareness campaigns for many past elections,” Khan’s spokeswoman said in a statement.
“We are alarmed by the recent viral video alleging that Aamir Khan is promoting a particular political party. He would like to clarify that this is a fake video and totally untrue. He has reported the matter to various authorities related to this issue, including filing an FIR with the Cyber Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police,” he added.
Ranveer Singh and Aamir Khan aren’t the only actors who have fallen victim to deepfake videos. Last year, a morphing video of Rashmika Mandanna went viral on social networks. In the video, the woman with Rashmika’s face is seen entering a lift while wearing a fitting suit.
However, it was subsequently revealed that the viral video was a deepfake. It drew everyone’s attention when superstar Amitabh Bachchan took to the microblogging platform X and sought legal action. Last week, Rashmika Mandanna called her deepfake video’scary’.
Prior to this, a deepfake video of Bollywood star Kajol appeared on the internet. Aside from that, Katrina Kaif’s action sequence in Tiger-3 was transformed.
