Dalip Tahil says Sushant Singh Rajput was a bankable actor, says career problems wouldn’t have led him to suicide

Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise has created quite a stir in Bollywood. While celebrities in the industry took to their social media accounts to mourn the actor’s demise, many have sparked the debate of insider v/s outsider and problems of nepotism in the industry, which they believed pushed the actor on the edge, resulting in him taking such a drastic step. Reports of Sushant losing his films, being pressured and boycotted by the big-guns in the industry have surfaced.

Sharing his insights on the issue, in an interview, veteran actor Dalip Tahil said that he believes in Bollywood the box office numbers is the decision-maker, and Sushant was a bankable actor. Tahil further added, “One cannot boycott an actor who scores well at the ticket window! I believe career problems couldn’t have been the only reason behind his demise. It must have been an accumulation of several factors and professional issues might be one of them.”
Referring to the issue of people boycotting Sushant in the industry, Dalip said, “There might have been differences with producers, sometimes contracts go haywire, however, an actor who is saleable and brings an audience to theatres cannot go jobless.”

Sushant Singh Rjput,34, passed away on June 14 after he hanged himself at his Bandra residence. According to the reports, he was taking treatment for depression. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police is currently investigating the case through all angles and professional rivalry is one of them.
