A new song from Shilpa Shetty’s upcoming movie, Hungama 2, got released on Tuesday. The song is a remake of Chura Ke Dil Mera, from the 90s. Actress Shilpa Shetty shared a video of the song on her Instagram handle and said that it was an ode to the late choreographer Saroj Khan.
She wrote, “Here it is, OLD wine in a NEW Bottle 💃 Missed the OG @akshaykumar, but #Filhaal, it’s time to steal @meezaanj’s heart 😉❤️ #ChuraKeDilMera 2.0 song is out now! An ode from all of us too late #SarojKhan Ji… thank you, @brinda_gopal master @anumalikmusic for keeping the soul intact 🙏🏻
#Hungama2”
The video featured Shilpa Shetty and Meezaan. Whereas, the original song from the 90s featured Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty. The song was originally sung by the iconic singer duo, Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. It was choreographed by the late choreographer Saroj Khan, who died last year due to a cardiac arrest. We can see some of the moves from the original choreography in the new version too.
In conversations with ANI, the actress quoted about the reprised version of the song, “Chura Ke Dil Mera has been a milestone in my career. This song has always been special. Now CKDM 2.0 is finally coming out as part of this epic franchise comedy, I am nothing but thrilled. It was fun and a challenge recreating it after 25 years since the benchmark is so high. Hope the audience loves it as much as I did dancing to the new version.”
The movie Hungama 2 is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Venus Worldwide Entertainment. Hungama 2 also stars actors like Pranitha Subhash, Meezan Jaffery, Rajpal Yadav, Johny Lever, Ashutosh Rana, Tiku Talsania, and many others. The trailer of the movie was released on July 1. The film will be released on July 16 on Disney+Hotstar.
