Namita Thapar, an Indian entrepreneur best known for her role as a judge on the business reality TV show ‘Shark Tank India,’ attended the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, May 15.
The managing director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals dazzled spectators with her stunning pastel green Elio Abou Fayssal gown.
She posted photos at the Cannes Film Festival on Instagram with the caption “Cannes 2024:)” and thanked her designer, Elio Abou Fayssal, for making her gala outfit.
Admirers described her as a “stunning queen” and commended her intelligence, with one saying, “Beauty and brains is my favourite combination.”
Indian model and actress Parul Gulati, CEO and founder of Nish Hair, who also appeared on Shark Tank, commented, “Ohooo PC vibes.”
Speaking to Brut in an interview before the ‘Furiosa’ screening at Cannes, she said, “Typically you only associate Cannes to film stars or people from the movie industry, and getting entrepreneurs here shows that we can be multidimensional,” when asked how it felt attending the festival as an entrepreneur. “We can do really good in business, and can ace it in fashion as well.”
Namita also stated that she is enjoying her time at the Cannes Film Festival, but because she is wearing a gown with a trail for the first time, she is concerned about not tripping on it on the red carpet.
Namita Thapar is the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. She has been a part of ‘Shark Tank India’ since its inaugural season in 2021. Her comment from the show, “Ye mera expertise nahi hai, I am out,” sparked numerous viral memes on the internet.
