Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu tied the knot in April 2016. The couple were blessed with their daughter in November 2022, and the two have been posting the cutest photos and videos of their daughter online. Recently in an interview, Karan disclosed that their daughter had to go through open-heart surgery at only three months due to congenital heart ailments that they had by birth with two holes in them.
Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar about the struggles he has had in life, Karan said that compared to others, he has not had to face life’s worst but there was a phase in life when they had a major problem relating to their daughter. Referring to that period, he said that it was very challenging because his daughter had a serious health issue, and he was unable to find the words to adequately describe the experience.
The actor further said, “My daughter is a true fighter. She has a long scar on her chest that goes till her stomach. Whatever we think and achieve in our lives is nothing compared to her. Whatever she and her mother (Bipasha) have gone through, it cannot be compared. Nothing like this has happened in my life, I am very lucky. My daughter has proved that she is a true fighter.”
During an interaction with Neha Dhupia in October 2023, Bipasha discuss the bitter truth when Devi was diagnosed. In this case, she said that Karan became quite anxious, to the extent that she had to sometimes even request that he step out of the ICU.
Devi’s status was disclosed to Bipasha by the doctors just 3 days after her birth but they said that there was a chance that the holes in the heart could close themselves. But they recommended Bipasha and Karan must go under scan frequently to track any changes. When there was no relief seen, it was concluded that Devi would require surgery. Devi, as stated by Bipasha had a successful operation done on her.
