Divya Khosla Kumar, wife of Bhushan Kumar, has lashed out at filmmaker Karan Johar for allegedly using derogatory language amidst the controversy involving her upcoming project Savi and Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra. The dispute started when Divya accused Alia of swiping off the idea of her film and even exaggerating figures of her film’s box office collections. Karan took an indirect dig by sharing an Instagram post which called silence ‘”the best speech for fools.”

Divya hit back and and said that no one in the industry has the right to dismiss her concerns, even though every artist on this planet should have the right to defend their work without fear of retribution. She also denied claims that her outcry was a publicity stunt to drum up interest in the movie. She said speaking out against the misuse of influence was important, especially when other, smaller, or less powerful people don’t feel heard.

To clarify further, Divya expressed that, her intention was never to cause unnecessary drama, and just felt like she was standing for what she thought is an injustice on her creative effort. She was saying that the credit and originality of artistic work should be truthful and real.
