Bhushan Kumar to produce the biopic on late choreographer Saroj Khan

On the first death anniversary of choreographer Saroj Khan, T-Series has announced that they have acquired rights from Saroj Khan’s children, and officially announced a biopic on her.

On choreographer Saroj Khan’s first death anniversary, Bhushan Kumar’s owner of T-Series has officially announced a biopic of her life. T-Series formerly acquired liberties to her life story from her children Raju Khan, Sukaina Khan and Hina Khan, and shared the news on its official social media handles.

Talking about the biography and Saroj Khan’s great offerings to the industry throughout her notable journey, Bhushan Kumar said in a statement, “Saroj ji not only mesmerized the audiences with actors performing her dance moves, but she also revolutionised the choreography scene in Hindi cinema. Her dance forms told stories which helped every filmmaker. She brought audiences to the theatres who saw their favourite actors dancing to her steps.”

He also added, “Saroj ji’s journey that started as early as a 3-year-old was met with a lot of ups and downs and the success and respect she gained from the industry has to be brought to life.”

Saroj Khan is a three-time National Award winner, passed away at the age of 71 last year on this day. During her over four-decade long dance career, she had choreographed more than 3,500 songs, including “Ek Do Teen” from Madhuri Dixit-starrer “Tezaab”, “Dhak Dhak Karne Laga” in Beta, “Dola Re Dola” from Sanjay Leela Bhansali”s “Devdas”, and “Ye Ishq Haaye” from “Jab We Met”.
