Comedian Bharti Singh was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) yesterday after the seizure of cannabis (ganja) at her Andheri residence in Mumbai. Following her arrest, earlier today her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa was also arrested for the same. The couple were produced in the Quilla court Sunday afternoon after which they were sent to judicial custody till December 4th. Bharti Singh will be taken to Kalyan Jail while Haarsh will be taken to Taloja prison.
Earlier today, NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede confirmed Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s arrest and stated that the couple had been arrested for consuming ganja.
Along with Bharti and Haarsh, two other drug peddlers were presented in the Quilla court. While the couple was sent to judicial custody till 4th December, the peddlers were sent to police custody.
Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaahave applied for their bail which will be heard on Monday.
Yesterday the NCB officials searched Bharti’s house and office after a tip-off. It was reported that they found 86.5 gms of cannabis from both places.
