In 2012, he finally realised his ultimate dream of becoming an actor with Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor.
Today, along with King Khan, Ayushmann also completed eight years in the industry. In this time period, he has managed to attain a place as one of the top actors in the industry. During his time in the industry, the actor has had a lot to learn from the biggest of superstars. One such lesson was from Aamir Khan.
In a recent interview with news agency IANS, Ayushmann disclosed that he purposely did not watch the original version of his 2017 film, a remake of Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Saadham, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’.
The actor explained that he still had not seen the original film and it was his method of going for a script. He further added that whenever he is offered a remake, he never watches the original film but only reads the script, because he believes that sometimes the humour, the essence, the emotions are lost in the translation.
Ayushmann further said in the same interview, “I tend to get quite inspired from an actor, while watching the original film, which makes it difficult for me to bring in my ‘own thing’ to the screen.”
The actor mentioned that he owed superstar, Aamir Khan as he received this lesson from him when he was an MTV presenter. He said,“I was an MTV presenter and I remember I was interviewing him for Ghajini. I asked him this question, ‘How is the film different from the original?’ He said, ‘I’ve not seen the original!’ I was really fascinated. He said he had read the script and it was great. So, I took that cue and I found that to be a great lesson!”
Ayushmann was last seen co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, in Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo. The film was recently released on an OTT platform.
