courtesy: TOIIn an unfortunate incident, Ayan Mukerji’s father Deb Mukherjee passed away on March 14. The family has organised a prayer meeting today and the filmmaker was spotted arriving. The veteran actor was 83 years old and died due to age related issues. Several friends, family, and well-wishers are expected to attend the prayer meet to honor the deceased.
Several videos and photos have emerged online, one of which shows the filmmaker arriving at the prayer meet. Deb Mukherjee’s last rites were performed on March 14, in the presence of his family members and Bollywood stars such as Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and others. His nieces – Kajol and Rani Mukerji – were also present.
Deb Mukherjee was a familiar face in Bollywood, and have been a part of several films including Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Do Aankhen, Baaton Baaton Mein, Kaminey, Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, and many more. But beyond the silver screen, he was also deeply involved in cultural traditions and played a key role in organizing the North Bombay Durga Puja, an event that holds a special place in Mumbai’s festive calendar.
In another video, Vicky Kaushal was also seen arriving at the prayer meet of the late veteran actor.
