Ashlyn Harris is proud of her girlfriend Sophia Bush for coming out as queer.
The former U.S. Women’s National Team goalkeeper took to her Instagram to show her support for Bush on Friday.
She wrote, “Proud of you, babe,” over a picture of Glamour cover story in which Sophia spoke out earlier about her sexuality.
Ashlyn and the One Tree Hill alum started dating in the fall of 2023, shortly after their splits from their respective partners. Sophia and Ashlyn filed for divorce from Grant Hughes and Ali Krieger, respectively.
Shortly after the couple’s first date, it was reported by Us Weekly, citing sources, “Sophia and Ashlyn insist they were just friends, but by all accounts, it was instant chemistry… They love being together. They love sports and want to do good in the world.”
Since then, the pair has been often spotted together, including at an event at Art Basel in December and the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s annual Oscars viewing party in March.
Their relationship was not officially confirmed by Sophia, until April 25, wherein she mentioned it in Glamour cover story.
Coming out as queer ultimately meant a sense of freedom for her, who said it required therapy and prodding from loved ones.
