Former Disney star or what people generally know her as, High School Musical’s Sharpay, Ashley Tisdale took it to her Instagram stories to share her opinion about the organ transplant joke made in The Good Fight’s scene about her childhood co-star Selena Gomez.
While backing up the pop star, Tisdale called out the writers for making jokes about the personal confessions of celebrities.
She expressed how sad it is to her that when celebrities decide to share their stories about health it’s often turned into jokes by writers in multiple shows.
While she did not mention Selena in her post, it was evident that what this was in reference to.
Tisdale continued to add how it is already difficult for celebrities to reveal their truth. She stated that it takes immense courage to be in the public eye and letting the world in on what someone is going through personally.
She called out the writers on how it is insensitive and unacceptable to make a person’s struggle into a joke. She also asked them to go back to school and come with something “actually funny”.
The Paramount Plus show also made a reference to the Kidney transplant of 2017 and portrayed characters talking about topics you can’t joke about.
The Selenators came to the rescue in a blink of an eye and lashed back at the show for its ” Tasteless” content as claimed by Selena herself in her post.
Previously, the show Saved by the Bell also mentioned Selena’s organ transplant, in November 2020 where the identity of her donor was discussed.
