YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani has announced on Instagram that he stepping down as the host of Valentine’s Day screening of Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World in Mumbai. This comes amidst the legal troubles after Mumbai police charged him, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and other guests on India’s Got Latent for obscenity.
While Ashish did not mention his legal trouble, he said that he will skipping the event due to his ill health. Taking to his Instagram handle, he wrote, “Hello doston, I am not keeping well, so unfortunately I won’t be able to attend & host the screening of the film ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ on Valentine’s Day. But, don’t worry, those who are selected can still go & enjoy the show. I know, I am gonna miss y’all so much! Love you 3000.”
What is the controversy about India’s Got Latent?
The latest episode of IGL saw Ranveer, Ashish, and Apoorva Mukhija, as guest on Samay’s show. During the show, Ranveer made an insensitive comment about parents and sex, which has landed all the social media influencers in legal trouble. As per PTI, Mumbai police recorded statement from seven people, including Ashish, on Thursday.
What did Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia say?
After receiving massive backlash over his comment, Ranveer issued apology video, wherein he admitted that he should not have said what he said. Meanwhile, Samay shared a statement wherein he revealed that he has deleted all the episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel, as the circumstances are too much for him to handle.
