Arshi Khan expresses pain on being called Pakistani, says ‘I am Indian’

Arshi Khan says, “It was a difficult time for me when people used to unnecessarily target and troll me while questioning my citizenship. They consider me to be a Pakistani citizen living in India.”

Arshi Khan, who was a contestant of ‘Bigg Boss 14’, is in the news these days about her ordeal. Recently, she has expressed anguish over being called a Pakistani. Earlier, the actress had told that she was born in Afghanistan and she had come to India with her family. But still, some people used to troll him on social media by calling him Pakistani.

According to Etimes, Arshi Khan says, “It was a difficult time for me when people used to unnecessarily target and troll me while questioning my citizenship. They consider me to be a Pakistani citizen living in India. And for this illusion, I had to lose my work many times. This was the saddest experience of my life. I want to clarify once and for all that I am an Indian in every way. I have all the identity cards approved by the Government of India. I am not from Pakistan, India resides inside me.

Arshi Khan recently revealed her roots in Afghanistan. She continues, “I am an Afghani Pathan, and my family belongs to the Yusuf Zaheer Pathan ethnic group. My grandfather had come to India from Afghanistan and was a jailer in Bhopal. I have my roots in Afghanistan but I am an Indian citizen.” Seeing the fear of the Taliban in Afghanistan, Arshi Khan had said that she was worried about the rights of women and girls living there because some of her relatives and friends were trapped there.

Meanwhile, Arshi Khan will now participate in Karan Johar’s ‘Bigg Boss OTT’. Arshi will be seen chatting with the contestants of Bigg Boss OTT in the upcoming episode and challenging them for the task. She has happened to be an over-the-top contestant. Arshi is known for her flawless style.
