Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are not only Bollywood contemporaries but also really close friends. They took acting classes together at Barry John’s acting school and were trained under Saurabh Sachdeva. The former recently revealed a humorous anecdote about his early days as an acting student, sharing how Varun tricked him into starring in a short film. Arjun also mentioned that this prank might have cost him a few opportunities with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

Recalling the incident, Arjun said that Varun had convinced him to act in the short film, promising him the lead role. But ultimately kept the lead role for himself and made Arjun the villain with his knowledge.

“Varun made a fool of me. He told me I had a good role in the seven-minute short film. We were taking acting classes back then, and he wanted to direct our final project. I thought, ‘How bad could it be?’ He wrote the script, told me I was the hero, and we started shooting. But after the shoot, I saw the edit and realized he had given himself the hero role, and I was the villain. He didn’t even tell me!” he told Galatta India.

The Singham Again actor further revealed that he was stunned upon watching the final version of the short film, only to discover that Varun had showcased it to none other than KJo. Moreover, the film was also discussed on one of Karan’s talk shows. Arjun then said that this embarrassing incident might have contributed to him receiving fewer opportunities from Dharma Productions in the past.
