Archana Puran Singh shares the reason behind hiding marriage for four years

In a Times Now interview, actress Archana Puran Singh shared the reason behind hiding her marriage with Parmeet Sethi for four years.

Actress Archana Puran Singh got married to Parmeet Sethi in the year 1992. However, she kept her marriage secret for four years. In a recent interview with Times Now, the judge of The Kapil Sharma Show revealed the reasons behind hiding her marriage.

While speaking to Times Now, the actress said, “At that time, in our industry, there was a common perception that if a girl gets married her work dwindles down. In the industry, they used to say that married heroines do not get much work. There is that little chauvinism in the industry. Women and men have different guidelines.”

Further, she added, “The industry thinks that shadi ho gayi hai, bacha ho jaega (she’s married and she’ll have children) and then she might leave her commitment halfway through or not devote her time and commitment to our film. Parmeet and I said that marriage was for us, we wanted to do it personally and not keep it a public affair. We both wanted to get married. Parmeet didn’t want marriage to affect my career. We both decided to keep it a secret.”

Archana Puran Singh had once mentioned about hiding her marriage in one of the episodes of the Kapil Sharma Show. The newlyweds Neha Kakkar and Rohanpreet Singh were invited to the show and Archana revealed few details about her marriage story. She said that back then she was shooting for Saif Ali Khan’s debut movie, Parampara, and didn’t let anyone know that she was getting married. The movie also starred actors like Amir Khan, Sunil Dutt, Ashwini Bhave, Vinod Khanna, Raveena Tandon, and many others.
