At actor Rahman’s daughter’s wedding, former Tamil cinema stars particularly those from the 1990s were spotted posing for a memorable photo.
Prominent people included in the event photo include actor Rahman’s brother-in-law, AR Rahman, as well as actresses Shobana, Nadiya Moidu, Menaka Suresh, Ambika, Lissy, Suhasini Maniratnam, Parvathy, Revathi, and many more. Many people who grew up watching these actors’ films and liked spending their childhoods with them seem nostalgic at seeing so many of these well-known stars united under one roof.
Also, Mic Mohan and Revathi were seen posing close to one another in the photo, which seemed to have sparked memories of their 1986 movie Mouna Ragam. The movie, which Mani Ratnam wrote and directed, is still adored by many people today and was his first big blockbuster.
The movie tells the story of Divya, a free-spirited college student whose father forces her into an arranged marriage with Chandrakumar. However, she continues to live with her old love, Manohar.
The narrative centres on Divya’s internal struggle to accept the present while clinging to the past. The movie was such a hit that it was adapted in Hindi in 1992 as Kasak, starring Rishi Kapoor and Neelam Kothari, and in Kannada in 1999 as Chandrodaya, with Ramesh Aravind and Prema in the key parts and Shiva Rajkumar in a lengthy cameo.
Reunion before this
Before this reunion a few weeks earlier, back in November, several actors were also spotted in another one. Stars from the 1980s were seen arriving at the Thiruvananthapuram wedding of actress Karthika Nair and Rohit Menon.
