AR Rahman, the 56 years old Singer, Record producer, composer, Songwriter, and Musician, is known as the Pride of India for bagging many prestigious awards such as National Film Awards, Academy Awards, Oscar Awards, Golden Globe Award, Filmfare Awards and a BAFTA Awards, has once again made it to headlines but this time for a different cause.
The ‘JAI HO’ composer who has always expressed his love for the Tamil language, was invited to attend the Vikatan award show with his wife Saira Bano in Chennai. The host of the award show welcomed Saira Bano on Stage to speak a few words.
When Saira was about to express her words suddenly AR Rahman told her to speak in Tamil instead of Tamil. He said, “DON’T SPEAK IN HINDI, SPEAK IN TAMIL”.
Saira Bano responded as she said “Sorry, I can’t speak fluently in Tamil. So, please excuse me. I am super happy and excited and his voice is my favourite. I fell in love with his voice.”
AR Rahman and Saira Bano tied the knot back on March 12, 1995. It was an arranged marriage.
AR Rahman initially was supposed to marry Meher, the younger sister of Saira, but when his mother saw Saira her the first time she instantly decided that she will be the one to marry him, as she possesses all three qualities of being beautiful, well educated and full of humility, as asked by AR Rahman.
