Apoorva Mukhija, aka The Rebel Kid, is reportedly receiving death threats following the backlash over her appearance on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. The social media influencer has been under fire along with fellow influencers Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay for making inappropriate remarks on the show. Now, her close friend Rida Tharana has come to her defense, calling her hate and threats ‘unfair’.
As per reports Apoorva has been receiving death, sexual assault, and harassment threats online. In response, Rida took to her Instagram handle condemning the hate and speaking out in her defense.
She expressed her frustration over the hate Apoorva is facaing, highlighting how women are often targeting simply for existing and embracing themselves. She noted that the same issue faced by others becomes worse when it involves a woman, making safety and protection feel uncertain.
She wrote, “It’s so unfair, the hate and cruelty she’s being put through. I hope none of you ever have to experience what she’s going through.”
Meanwhile, Apoorva is now facing legal trouble, with an FIR filed against her and police summoning her for questioning earlier this week. She has maintained her silence over the controversy, while Ranveer issued an apology for his comment, and Samay issued a statement stating that he has deleted all the episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel.
