Virat Kohli, former captain of India, extended his recent success in the Asia Cup by reaching his long – awaited T20I century. In India’s last Asia Cup game, Kohli destroyed Afghanistan by hitting 122* off just 61 balls. When asked about his feelings during the mid-inning interview, Kohli spoke about his wife, Anushka Sharma, who stood by his side through thick and thin.
After the match, Sharma posted a brief, touching message to her husband on Instagram, putting the critics to rest by scoring two half-centuries and a century in four Asia Cup games.
In a heartfelt tribute earlier in the day, Kohli thanked his wife, the actor and producer Anushka Sharma, for helping him clear his head of any mental fog by dedicating his 71st international century to her. “You see me standing here like this right now because all the things that have been put in perspective have been done by one person, who stood by me through all these difficult times, that’s Anushka and this hundred is specially dedicated to her and our little daughter Vamika as well.”
“As I said, when you have someone next to you putting the things in right perspective like I have been, and Anushka has been by my side through all these times .. time away from the game taught me lot of things” he added.
Following the birth of her baby Vamika in 2021, Anushka Sharma’s next film will be Chakda Xpress. Jhulan Goswami’s life is the inspiration for the film.
