Bollywood Actress Anushka Sharma has been one of the most influential personalities in the Entertainment industry. Even as a couple, Virat and Anushka have set several couple goals. During and after her first pregnancy, the actress was in news for several reasons. Being an environmentalist, she has been seen taking several initiatives. Currently, she is raising awareness about circular fashion.
It might be just a small behavior change but has a great impact on the environment. The actress is starting off her initiative by selling her maternity clothes online. All the earnings will be transferred to the Sneha foundation, which will support maternal health. The idea struck her during pregnancy. The maternal pieces that Anushka will be sharing will save nearly 2.5 lakh liters of water, which will underline the amount of contribution a single person can make towards a better environment.
Speaking about her initiative, Anushka told ETimes, “This is a very simple way that each of us can live kinder lives. By sharing pieces back into the circular fashion system and shopping preloved, we have a huge positive impact on the environment. During my pregnancy, I thought this phase in our lives is uniquely suited to participate in the circular economy. So I hope we can kickstart this ecosystem together.”
Further, she added, “For instance, if even just 1 percent of pregnant women in urban India bought one piece of preloved maternity clothing over newly manufactured, each year we can conservatively save about as much water as a person drinks in over 200 years! This is a way in which a small action of each individual can make a real difference.”
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli were blessed with a baby girl, Vamika, on January 11. The trio was recently seen together in England at the World Test Championship. However, the couple has refrained from sharing Vamika’s picture on social media.
