Priyanka Khimani, Anurag Kashyap‘s lawyer, has recently issued a statement on the behalf of the Filmmaker. The statement says that all the allegations filed against Kashyap are completely false. This came after Anurag Kashyap was accused by actress Payal Ghosh of sexual misconduct under #MeToo campaign over Twitter. Many celebs who have worked with the filmmaker such as Taapsee Pannu, Hansal Mehta, Radhika Apte, and even his first wife Aarti Bajaj and Kalki Koechlin came to defend him.
The statement released by Kashyap’s lawyer on his behalf states that all the allegations of sexual misconduct against him are completely false and the filmmaker is deeply pained by such accusations. Anurag Kashyap has shared the photo of the statement over his Instagram account and it reads, “My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have recently surfaced against him. These allegations are completely false, malicious and dishonest. It is sad that a social movement as important as the #MeToo movement has been co-opted by vested interests and reduced to a mere tool for character assassination. Fictitious allegations of this nature seriously undermine the movement and seek to unconscionably trade upon the pain and trauma of the actual victims of sexual harassment and abuse. My client has been fully advised of his rights and remedies in law and intends to pursue them to the fullest extent.”
Anurag Kashyap wrote a caption along with the statement which says, “Here is the statement from my lawyer @priyankakhimani on my behalf .. thank you.”

Meanwhile, it was reported by TOI that Payal Ghosh will file an official complaint at Oshiwara Police Station, Mumbai against Anurag Kashyap regarding the same.
