Anupam Kher to play Rabindranath Tagore in the upcoming film – First look out now!

Rabindranath Tagore was the first Indian to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913, and he composed the national anthems of India and Bangladesh.

Anupam Kher, the actor, unveiled his new project on Friday, in which he will play the poet, philosopher, and essayist Rabindranath Tagore.

Anupam revealed his appearance as Tagore on Instagram, captioning it, “Delighted to portray #Gurudev #RabindranathTagore in my 538th project. Will reveal the details in due course. Ye mere saubhagya hai ki mujhe gurudev ko parde par saakaar karne ka saubhagya parpt hua hai. Jald hi is film ki adhik jankaari apke sath sanjha krunga.”

Rabindranath Tagore was the first Indian to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913; he composed the national anthems of India and Bangladesh, as well as many other songs.

He is recognised by various names, including Gurudev, Kabiguru, and Biswakabi, and is also known as ‘the Bard of Bengal.’ Tagore was born on May 7, 1861, in Kolkata to a Brahmin family and began writing poetry at the age of eight. He published his first collection of poems under the alias “Bhanusimha” when he was 16 years old.

Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Neena Gupta all play important roles in the film, which is planned to be released in theatres on March 29, 2024.
