Veteran actor Anupam Kher said on Thursday that his Twitter follower count had dropped dramatically in the previous 36 hours. The actor revealed the data in a tweet, saying he’s curious whether it’s a technical glitch or something else.

On Thursday, Kher addressed his tweet to the Twitter team and wrote, “Dear @Twitter and @TwitterIndia! I have 80,000 less followers in the last 36 hours! Is there a glitch in your app or something else is happening!! It is an observation. Not a complaint….. yet.:)”

On Twitter, the star now has 18.7 million followers. He became a member of the social networking site in September 2009 and has been an active user ever since. He often expresses his thoughts on the site, communicates with his fans, and promotes his work.

Kher will soon be seen narrating and anchoring the Discovery+ documentary Bhuj: The Day India Shook. It is based on one of India’s most devastating earthquakes, which occurred 20 years ago. To expose the catastrophe, the documentary mixes facts, credible research, and first-hand experiences of survivors.

On a personal level, the actor is assisting his wife, Kirron Kher, who is battling cancer. Anupam Kher left his American TV show New Amsterdam after his wife’s diagnosis to be with her through these difficult days.
