Anant Ambani, son of Indian industrialist Mukesh Ambani, has marked his engagement to Radhika Merchant with a four day luxury cruise from Palermo to south of France and back. The cruise has made exclusive stops in Rome, Portofino, Genoa, and Cannes for a series of meticulously planned celebrations. Earlier, the Ambanis had held pre- wedding festivities in Jamnagar, Gujarat, wherein the industrialist had splurged $150 million on a three day extravaganza celebration that drew over 1,200 including international pop star Rihanna and billionaires Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and many more.
The celebration seems to incense businesses and individuals in Portofino as it closed the whole bay, making it inaccessible for visitors and residents. Although the picture – spec town has always been among the favourites for celebrities wedding venue, it has never been closed for an event before.
According to Andrea Miroli, manager of a well-known restaurant Il Puny – which has catered some of the international A listers including Denzel Washington, Sir Elton John – they were asked to make lobster sandwich, but they were only informed 20 days before the event. Miroli expressed his disappointment, as he thought that being offered €10,000 just 20 days before the event, which for him was insulting.
