The average athlete isn’t usually recognized for their personal style, but Angel Reese is no average athlete. The former LSU basketball star, with a substantial net worth and a flair for fashion, is turning heads off the court just as much as on it. Known to her fans as the “Bayou Barbie,” Reese’s killer style and makeup sense are as celebrated as her basketball triumphs. Case in point: she stole the spotlight at the WNBA draft in a sparkly, hooded gown that could make even Rihanna shed tears of joy. Reese’s Instagram caption quoting Rihanna said it all: “I remember thinking… She can beat me, but she can’t beat my outfit.” Well said, indeed.

Reese paired the daring look with long, straight black hair and soft makeup, earning accolades from her fans. “The MUA did her job too,” commented one user. On the court or across her social media, Reese is often seen sporting bolder makeup styles through various partnerships on Instagram and TikTok. However, she’s not always dolled up. Reese is unafraid to step out without makeup, showcasing her natural beauty with confidence.

In February, a TikTok troll challenged Angel Reese to post a makeup-free look. Rising to the occasion, Reese uploaded a TikTok of herself sitting in her car with only her bare face, long straight hair, and a pimple patch. Known for her glamorous lashes, winged eyeshadow, blush, and colorful lipstick, she revealed a different side of herself. The audio overlay on the clip was dismissive: “I have not heard from my opps yet. They have not said a thing,” the voice said. “And even when they talking, it’s like I still don’t hear them.”

Reese also showcased minimal makeup during a paid partnership with CoverGirl. In March, she uploaded a TikTok tutorial for her “no makeup look” to her more than 3.5 million followers. “Hey, guys! I’m about to go out with my friends and I wanna do a no makeup look and just do lip gloss and I love when my lips are popping,” she said. “That’s like my favorite thing. Lashes and lip gloss are all I really need.” She then demonstrated how to apply her “Yummy” lip gloss by CoverGirl, one of her personal staples. “I love when my lips are stained pink, and this literally does it,” she said. Her confidence is clearly well-founded.

Reese isn’t shy about sharing her makeup-free moments. In February, she posted a few bare-faced selfies on TikTok, dressed in pink SKIMS pajamas and posing around her home. Aside from her lashes (and possibly some lip gloss), she wore nearly no makeup. “Saturday nights in @SKIMS,” Reese captioned the TikTok slideshow, accompanied by three heart emojis. Fans flocked to the comments to shower her with praise. “Your beauty’s like art in a museum, the more I look at it, the more I get better,” wrote one admirer. Another added, “Skin is eating,” along with three heart-eye emojis.

In January, Reese once again went makeup-free for a highly requested skincare tutorial on TikTok. Starting the video in full makeup, she ended it with only her lashes intact. Her routine involved ensuring her hands were bacteria-free before washing her face with La Roche-Posay cleanser, double cleansing with CeraVe foaming facial cleanser, moisturizing with Cetaphil, and applying La Roche-Posay vitamin C serum for dark spots and discoloration.

Whether she’s glammed up for the red carpet or rocking her natural beauty, Angel Reese exudes confidence and style, proving she’s a force to be reckoned with both on and off the court
