Big B, recently posted a picture of his character from the 1975 movie, Deewar.He also shared the real story behind the creation of the look. His iconic look with a knotted shirt was in fact a tailoring glitch.
The actor explained that the shirt was too long for him and there was no sufficient time to replace the shirt. Therefore, a knot was tied at the end and this created an iconic look.
The Deewar actor wrote, “… those were the days my friend .. and the knotted shirt .. it has a story .. first day of shoot .. shot ready .. camera about to roll .. and the discovery that the shirt has been made too long – beyond the knees .. director could not wait for another shirt or a replaced actor .. so tied it up in a knot and …”
Marathi actress Tejaswini Pandit, commented, “Rest was history.” One of his fans commented lyrics from the song, “Memories bring back memories bring back.” All his fans were surprised to know the back story about the look. Many of them commented, “Perfect look”, “Great sir”.
Filmmaker, Yash Chopra, directed the 1975 movie, Deewar. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, the film had several talented actors like Shashi Kapoor, Nirupama Roy, Neetu Singh, Parveen Babi, Madan Puri and many others. Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the movie, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ with Ayushmann Khurrana. The 78 year old actor, has several movies in the pipeline. Jhund, Chehre, Brahmastra, The Intern are some of them.
