Whenever a new actor enters the industry, he/she has a wish to work with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. He has done multiple movies with younger actors like Taapsee Pannu, Deepika Padukone and will be seen with Alia Bhatt soon in Brahmastra. However, the most stunning actress and dancer Madhuri Dixit has never worked with Amitabh Bachchan or there hasn’t even been a proposal.
The reason behind this is actor Anil Kapoor. Anil Kapoor did not wish that Madhuri should work with Amitabh Bachchan in a film or even a song. Madhuri made her Hindi film debut with the movie ‘Abodh’ in 1984 which didn’t work at the box office. She delivered a few films after that and even they turned out to be a flop. At that time, Madhuri was termed as a bad luck charm and no male actor wanted to star opposite her.
During this struggle, Anil supported Madhuri and offered her Tezaab in 1988, which changed Madhuri’s life. The movie came out to be a superhit and Madhuri got extremely famous for her song ‘Ek Do Teen’ choreographed by Saroj Khan. After Tezaab Madhuri and Anil became a hit pair and did several blockbuster movies together like ‘Beta’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Hifazat’, ‘Parinda’ and many more. After all these movies, Madhuri became a superstar and every actor and director wanted her in their next project.

After this, Madhuri was offered to star opposite Amitabh Bachchan in a big film, but Anil Kapoor asked her to drop the offer. Anil started getting possessive about her and didn’t wish to share this hit pair with Amitabh. In the 80s and 90s, Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor were the two biggest stars and were considered rivals and completely avoided sharing screen space.
As Madhuri could not diss Anil Kapoor’s request as he made her career, Madhuri rejected the film however after that Madhuri didn’t work with Anil Kapoor either. From 2001 to 2019 they did not do any film together. Only back in 2019, they reunited after 18 years to do Indra Kumar’s ‘Total Dhamaal’ with an ensemble cast.
In the work front, Madhuri Dixit was last seen in ‘Kalank’ and she released her new song amid the lockdown called ‘Candle.’ Anil Kapoor was last seen in Mohit Suri’s ‘Malang’ with Aditya Roy Kapoor, Disha Patani and Kunal Kemmu.
