Naomi Scott amazed everyone with her performance as Princess Jasmine in the action Disney film, Aladdin which was released in 2019. Several actresses including Tara Sutaria gave auditions for bagging the role of Princess Jasmine but it was finally grabbed by Naomi Scott. Naomi is of Indian descent and she is still attached to her roots. It seems that Scott is a big Bollywood fan as she was watching Deepika’s ‘Nagada Sang Dhol’ song from ‘Ram Leela’.

Naomi revealed that she was compared to Bollywood beauty, Deepika Padukone. She was questioned whether she took any inspiration from Bollywood actresses to play Jasmine in Aladdin.

Recently, in interaction with BBC, the actress spoke about how she was told that she looks like Deepika Padukone. Recalling the incident, Naomi said, “I have to tell you this funny story. Do you know ‘Nagada Sang Dhol’? I was playing it on set and I had an American cast and crew so I’m playing it because I love that song so much, and literally someone was like, ‘Oh it’s so beautiful, Nay, is that you?’ and I was just like, ‘Yeah, it is.”

Naomi added, “I thought to myself, you could be compared to worse people than Deepika, so I’ll take that because she’s pretty beautiful.”
