Akshay Kumar donates Rs 45 lakhs to daily wage cine workers

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has always extended a helping hand to people in need. He has always stepped up to ease the distress of people. Akshay’s benevolent act of giving hands to people who are affected by natural disasters or national emergencies is a blessing in disguise.

Recently, Khiladi Kumar came to the rescue of daily wage cine workers who are left with no work and hence no source of income amidst the pandemic. As we know, shootings are stalled, so the junior artistes and daily wage workers are facing a financial crisis since march.

Akshay Kumar donated Rs 45 lakhs to the CINTAA – Cine & TV Artistes Association to help 1500 film workers, who are badly affected by the nationwide lockdown. Amit Behl, Sr. Joint Secretary (CINTAA), said that Akshay Kumar wanted to help these workers and that’s why asked for a list of its members and transferred Rs. 45 lakhs for their support. An amount of Rs. 3,000 is being deposited into bank accounts of each worker.

This is not the first time that Akshay showed his generosity. Earlier he donated 25 crores to PM Cares fund, 2 crores to Mumbai Police, 3 crores to Mumbai Municipal Corporation to fight against Coronavirus Pandemic.

Earlier, Akshay had also donated to flood relief camps to help the people of Chennai in 2015, Kerala, Assam who were left devastated after being hit by a flood. He also joined hands with his upcoming film, ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ director Raghava Lawrence to provide homes to the transgenders. Akshay is playing the role of a transgender in the Film.
Akshay will be seen next in Rohit Shetty’s most anticipated film of the year, ‘Suryavanshi’ which was earlier scheduled to release in April but due to nation wise lockdown is pushed forward for Diwali release. Akshay was seen shooting with R. Balki on Tuesday following precautions and taking all permissions.
