In the upcoming movie Selfiee, which will hit theatres on February 24, Bollywood celebrities Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi will appear. A few days before the movie’s debut, the actors were spotted promoting it in an unorthodox way by visiting fans within the Mumbai Metro and surprising them with an impromptu performance of the song “Main Khiladi” from the movie.
A video of Akshay Kumar and Emraan entering a recently opened DN Nagar metro station in Mumbai with their entourage and security was posted on Instagram on Thursday by paparazzi and fan sites. In one shot, the actors can be seen running to catch a train. As a flash mob joined them inside the train, they jumped up from their seats and engaged in dancing to their song Main Khiladi.
For this marketing gimmick, they both chose casual attire. Emraan had a jacket on and was dressed in blue jeans, while Akshay was sporting a grey tracksuit.
One of Akshay Kumar’s major hits from his 1994 action comedy “Main Khiladi Tu Anari” was remade as “Main Khiladi.” In the original song, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan both sang. Similar to the original, Akshay appears in the 2023 remake alongside Emraan Hashmi. In the version, both performers display appealing dancing moves while wearing vibrant outfits.
The Malayalam film “Driving Licence,” starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu, is remade as “Selfiee.” Prithviraj Sukumaran, who will likely play a cameo, is also a co-producer of “Selfiee.” Diana Penty, and Nushratt Bharuccha also appear in the film, which was directed by Raj Mehta.
