Bollywood is renowned for its brittle relationships, but for the past 20 years or so, one pair has been giving us serious couple goals. Ajay Devgn and Kajol exchanged vows in a traditional Maharashtrian wedding on February 24, 1999. But did you know that Ajay Devgn had an affair with Karisma Kapoor before he married Kajol? All three of them were huge stars when they found themselves in a romantic triangle in the 1990s.
Ajay and Karisma fell in love while shooting Jigar, the film directed by Farogh Siddique. Indeed, it is said that Ajay Devgn broke up with Raveena Tandon to get to be with Karisma Kapoor. They collaborated on several popular films, including Sargam, Suhag, and Dhanban.
And it made it possible for them to spend more time together. But when Ajay signed a movie called Hulchul with Kajol, things began to go south between them.
Although it’s been reported that the actor didn’t enjoy spending time with Kajol at first, their friendship only really blossomed after they started filming again. But Kajol was having problems in her relationship with Kartik Mehta, one of her friends. They used to spend a lot of time together and talk about their concerns, as they were close friends. This made them closer and boosted their relationship.
Regarding Karisma Kapoor, their relationship ended suddenly and heartbrokenly as soon as Kajol and Ajay began making headlines together. Apparently, Ajay ended his affair with Karisma Kapor in 1995 and started a romantic relationship with Kajol.
But in 1993, Karisma Kapoor discussed her connection with Ajay Devgn and denied rumours that she was dating the now 51-year-old actor. In an interview with a popular gossip magazine, she referred to herself as a “kid” and stated, “Believe me, we’re just friends yaar.” He hasn’t said anything, so I’m not sure if he thinks that way about me.
“I don’t think that’s possible. People are only coming to this conclusion because it’s the most obvious one. Firstly, he saved my life, and secondly, we’ve signed so many films together. Some stupid fools have even gone ahead and written that we’re getting married. C’mon, I’m a kid myself; how do you expect me to get married at this age? It’s so funny really,” Karisma continued.
That being said, Karisma was a more accomplished actor than Kajol. When it came to working, she was utterly concentrated. “Let people take digs at me; let them taunt me. It’s only going to make me work harder now. I’m going to fight them all tooth and nail. I’ve silenced them before and I can do it again if the time comes. I only need the blessings of all my well-wishers.” she said as she wrapped up the conversation, proving the same.
Both of them are happy in their independent lives today, having each had two children with their different partners. Karisma’s children are Samaira and Kiaan, whilst Ajay and Kajol’s children are named Nysa and Yug.
