Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan, who is best known for his role in Akshay Kumar starrer Welcome, claimed to be recently kidnapped from the Delhi-Meerut highway. He was allegedly asked to attend an award show in Meerut on November 20, but things took an ugly turn for him.
Mushtaq’s business partner, Shivam Yadav, revealed in an interview with a media portal that the actor was tricked into boarding a car that picked him from Delhi. He was reportedly invited to attend an event with flight tickets, and an advance payment was also sent to his account. Post Mushtaq’s landing in Delhi, he was taken to a secluded area in Bijnor, where he was held hostage for about 12 hours and was even tortured. The kidnappers allegedly demanded ransom of Rs. 1 crore. After torturing him and causing much chaos, the kidnappers took Rs. 2 lakh from Mushtaq and his son’s bank account. Shivam added that the Stree 2 actor tried to escape after hearing the morning azaan as he realized that there is a mosque nearby. He took help from the locals and with the help of the cops, he reached home safely.
Shivam said, “Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken over what happened to him. Yesterday, I went to Bijnor and filed an official FIR. We have proof of the flight ticket, the bank accounts, and even CCTV footage near the airport. He also recognizes the neighborhood, even the house where he was kept. I think the police team will surely catch the culprits soon.”
