Aftab Shivdasani opens up as ‘Masti’ completes 17 years

The adult comedy film Masti completed 17 years of its release.

‘Masti’, directed by Inder Kumar broke many barriers of comedy when it released. An adult comedy released 17 years ago, the film hit the Rs 100 crore mark in the box office. One of the actors in the Masti trilogy Aftab Shivdasani recently opened up to ET Times in an exclusive interview years after Masti’s release.

He said that this is a movie he will always cherish and it was the first film that he did which was of a never-done-before comedy genre. Aftab revealed that he was first offered Riteish Deshmukh’s role. He said no to it because he felt that role was similar to his character in the movie ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’.

Days later Inder Kumar contacted him again to offer him the role of Prem, he recalled. He talked about how he decided to do the movie as we wanted to do something different. Aftab also talked about how fun it was to shoot with Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi and that his favourite song from the movie is Dil De Diya Hai.

Aftab Shivdasani is now shooting for his upcoming ‘Special Ops’ with Neeraj Pandey.
