Actor Payal Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct and filed an FIR against the filmmaker under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (I) (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty,), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 342 (wrongful confinement). After filing an FIR at Versova police station on September 21, 2020, the filmmaker was summoned by the cops and was reportedly interrogated for 8 hours on October 1, 2020. She also demanded a narco analysis, lie detector and polygraph test to be conducted on Kashyap, as he lied in his statement before to the police.
Payal Ghosh has reached New Delhi to meet Rekha Sharma, the National Commission for Women’s head, to discuss the further course of action against the filmmaker. She said, “I will be meeting the NCW chief, some other works also on the table. He should have been arrested by now, but he appeared in front of the police only once. If we feel the investigation is going forward we will decide a further plan of action”.
Anurag Kashyap‘s lawyer, Priyanka Khimani stated that the filmmaker denied all the allegations made against him by Payal Ghosh.
