Actor Dhanush announces his 3rd directorial venture

Using a concept picture, actor Dhanush surprised fans on Friday by revealing the joyful news of his third film project.

Dhanush posted a poster featuring the release date on X. The poster shows a wide blue sea in the distance behind a beach bench. Two crescent moons, rather than one, serve as the alphabets “DD” (Dhanush’s Directorial), with the release date at the bottom.

Dhanush is known for his diverse acting style; he is predominantly employed in the Tamil film industry. The actor is well-liked in the South and has a wide range of performances under his resume.  In 2017, Dhanush made his feature film directing debut with Pa Pandi, a film that followed a retired stunt director on his quest to rediscover his true love. Both reviewers and viewers praised the film for being straightforward and powerful.

To date, he has worked on over 44 films, and he has received numerous awards for his services to the entertainment sector. ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’, a popular song from the romantic psychological thriller ‘3’, has received millions of views on YouTube. His other popular Tamil films include “Maryan,” “Anegan,” “Kodi,” and the sequel to “Maari.”

Apart from these films, Dhanush’s upcoming role is in Captain Miller, a period film directed by Arun Matheshwaran that takes place in the 1940s. Priyanka Mohan, Sandeep Kishan, and Shivrajkumar also play important roles in the film. The music for the film, which will be released on Pongal 2024, was composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

‘Raanjhanaa’ was his Bollywood debut. Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has joined Dhanush’s project, which is now in development and may or may not be called “D51.” It was revealed on the day of Nagarjuna’s birthday. Sekhar Kammula is directing the movie, and Rashmika Mandanna is involved as well. The movie is reportedly being “mounted on a grand scale in multiple languages.” (ANI)
