Actor Armaan Kohli’s bail rejected by court in drug trafficking case

Bollywood actor Armaan Kohli’s house in Mumbai was raided by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on 28th August 2021. The following day Armaan was arrested and taken under custody. Armaan had applied for bail which reportedly got rejected by the court.

Armaan Kohli’s life went upside down on 28th August 2021 when suddenly in the evening NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) raided his house in Mumbai. The search operation lasted for almost five hours after which small quantities of drugs were discovered from his house. The day after NCB Armaan arrested him and he was taken under police custody. Since then, Armaan’s lawyer has been trying to release him on bail for which the actor applied. But today the court rejected the bail plea and denied any relaxation to the actor. Armaan was only not the only one arrested but a total of three people were accused, two being Armaan’s close acquaintances.

Armaan argued that he must not be arrested because negligible quantities of the drug were discovered at his residence. The Public Prosecutor, Advait Sethna who examined Armaan’s case, however, refuted Armaan’s claim by stating that the other two people were found dealing in ‘commercial quantity’ of drugs.

Armaan was once a yet to become a superstar in Bollywood in the nineties. Everyone had the expectation of him achieving big success in Bollywood but it didn’t turn out that way. In fact, he was the first choice for Shah Rukh’s first film, Deewana alongside Late Divya Bharti. The posters of Deewana had also come out featuring him and Divya and he had completed his first schedule as well. But suddenly due to personal reasons, he had to leave the film and the rile landed to Shah Rukh Khan who was then a less known face, and the rest is history.
