Abhay Deol has often maintained his stance that marriage is not a necessity, but a ‘cultural thing’. However, the actor has now finally declared that he has no plans of getting married. During a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Abhay revealed that he would rather stay single than feel miserable post marriage.

He explained, “In nature, you love, you don’t love, no one is judging you for having more than one partner, or you can partner up and stay with that partner for life, you can end up single and finding your own self because you are able to be by yourself and know who you are.”

He added that he does not see marriage as a “natural phenomenon” and mentioned that he would rather be single and lonely than “miserable.” In the same conversation, the actor also admitted about being in both good and bad relationships.

Spilling the beans over his previous abusive relationship, Abhay said, “I don’t believe in violence, and I have had a lot of drama in some of my past relationships. They have turned violent as well, emotional mainly. And that’s not good, not for my partner and not good for me. Not pointing fingers at anyone.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor will be soon sharing screen space with Zeenat Aman in Bun Tikki.
