Aamir Khan has once more discussed his long-term goal of producing a movie based on the Hindu epic poem Mahabharata and stated that he is apprehensive about taking on the project. Aamir has been attempting to realise his ambitious plan to produce a high-budget movie based on the Mahabharata. In reality, writer Anjum Rajabali revealed to the public at a 2018 event that he left the Rakesh Sharma biography in order to concentrate on the movie, which is rumoured to have a budget of $1 billion.

When discussing his ideal project, Aamir said to Galatta Plus, “You are not simply doing a film when you are making a Mahabharata movie. You’re carrying out a yagya. It is much more than just a movie. I’m not quite ready for it yet because of this. I’m afraid to bring it out. You won’t be let down by Mahabharata, but you could disappoint Mahabharata.

Aamir had earlier talked about the amount of time a film on the epic would require and told PTI in an interview, ”It is a desire. The project is huge. It is a dream project for me. But if I decide today that I am making it, I will have to give 20 years to it. This is why I am scared, if I say yes and decide to make it, five years will go only in research and then to execute it…. the material is very exciting for me.”

Laal Singh Chadha, Aamir’s forthcoming movie, is now being promoted. Laal Singh Chaddha, an approved remake of the 1994 Hollywood blockbuster Forrest Gump, took more than ten years for Aamir to complete.
