During an interview with News18 India at the ‘Amrit Ratna 2023’ event, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan disclosed his next acting effort, titled “Sitaare Zameen Par.” In contrast to his earlier praised work in “Taare Zameen Par,” which was known for its emotional effect, he chooses a lighter approach in this new picture.
Aamir stated, “I’m starring in and producing this film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par.’ We are going ten steps ahead with the theme of ‘Taare Zameen Par.’ That film made you cry, this one will make you laugh. In ‘Taare…’ I helped Darsheel’s character, but in this film, nine people, with their own set of problems, will help me.”
“Sitaare Zameen Par” is Aamir Khan’s first film since 2022’s “Laal Singh Chaddha,” which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan. The official remake of the Hollywood film “Forrest Gump,” “Laal Singh Chaddha,” did not fare well at the box office.
For those unfamiliar with “Taare Zameen Par,” it was released in 2007 and centered around the story of an eight-year-old boy named Ishaan, who had dyslexia. Aamir Khan played the role of a school teacher in the film.
Aamir Khan also revealed that he is producing three films, one of which is “Laapata Ladies,” directed by Kiran Rao and due to be released on January 5. He is also collaborating on a film alongside his son, Junaid Khan. Aamir also said that he is collaborating with famed director Rajkumar Santoshi and actor Sunny Deol on a project.
The film, named “Lahore 1947,” will star Sunny Deol as the protagonist role, and it would be Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol’s debut collaboration. Aamir showed his enthusiasm for the project, adding, “It is a very good story.”
