On Wednesday, legendary actor Dilip Kumar’s death has left the whole Indian film industry in shock. The ‘Devdas’ actor passed away at the age of 98. His death had left a void in the entire film fraternity and a vast trunk of tasks behind, for forthcoming film creators and actors to acquire knowledge from. The veteran actor was placed to rest at Juhu Qabarastan at Santacruz in Mumbai with full state honours at 5:00 in the evening.
A family friend of Dilip Kumar, Faisal Farooqui, posted a video of police staff wrapping Dilip Sahab in the Indian tricolour cloth. He shared the post which said, “State funeral protocols – #DilipKumar saab being draped with the beautiful tricolor.”

Dilip Kumar lived till the age of 98 and had been suffering from major health issues for some time, one of the doctors who was treating the actor told journalists. “He had breathing difficulties…We tried very hard. We had hoped he would reach 100,” the actor’s doctor Jalil Parkar said.
At his residence in Mumbai, several Bollywood celebrities crowded to pay their final respects to the Dilip Sahab, among them were actor Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, producer Karan Johar and actor Vidya Balan along with husband Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Dilip Kumar was hospitalised on 30 June after he complained of unusual breathlessness. He had been often ill in the last few weeks. Earlier, last month, the doctors operated pleural aspiration on the 98-year-old actor to eliminate liquid from his lungs. The treatment is usually held to remove phlegm collected in the lungs.
