Ever since the photos were posted online, the newlyweds started garnering enormous attention on social media. However, what sparks more controversy is that this news comes amidst Malik and Sania Mirza’s separation rumours.

In 2010, before marrying tennis player Sania Mirza, Shoaib Malik was claimed to have been married to Ayesha Siddiqui. Before his wedding with Sania, Ayesha released video proofs of her wedding with the cricketer. However, he denied all the allegations and stated that he had been defamed.

During the release of vital evidence, Shoaib Malik was being trolled for committing infidelity and abandoning his first wife. Speaking to Economic Times, Shoaib revealed that he got married to Ayesha over a phone call when he was 20 years ago and he used to talk to her regularly. He also claimed that he was being deceived as the girl shown in person and in real were two different people altogether.

This incident happened in 2002, when the cricketer was having a relationship with Ayesha, though he has’t seen her. She insisted on getting married, however, Shoaib couldn’t do so as he needed approval from his family. Also, he claimed that he was under a lot of pressure from Ayesha, as word had gotten around that she was seeing a boy.

That was how Shoaib married Ayesha over a phone call. However, it was only 3 years after he got to meet her. That’s when Shoaib got to know her real identity.

It became an intense matter and Shoaib Malik had to pay Rs 15 crore to her as alimony to end the marriage.
