Ruslaan, Aayush Sharma’s highly anticipated film, was released on Friday but failed to gross even Rs 1 crore on its first day. According to a report in Sacknilk, the film made barely Rs 60 lakh at the box office.
Karan Lalit Butani directs the film, which also stars Sushrii Shreya Mishraa, Jagapathi Babu, and Vidya Malvade. The survey also claimed that action entertainment had an overall occupancy rate of 6.42 percent in the Hindi belts.
Sancilk.com also stated that the film had a 5.01 percent occupancy rate during the AM screenings on its first day. It rose to more than 7.0 percent in the afternoon and then to 6.14 percent in the evening. The night shows had an occupancy rate of 7.54%. The film also received the most attention at theatres in Chennai, followed by Jaipur and Bengaluru.
The film follows Ruslaan, who witnesses his father’s death in an encounter after being accused of placing bombs in a Mumbai school. In the same incident, his mother also dies. Ruslaan, an orphan, is tormented at school for being the son of a terrorist before being adopted by Sameer Singh, the anti-terrorism unit chief, and his wife. As he grows older, his foster father advises him to pursue his affinity for music rather than taking up arms or joining the military.
